Catalysis and Green Chemistry

  • Overview
  • Associated Faculty
  • Administrative staff
  • Research Publications

The research interests of our group are at the interface of organometallic chemistry and organic synthetic methodology. The main focus area of our research is the development of novel green synthetic methodologies, utilizing transition metal catalysis, for the functionalization of aromatic hydrocarbons. Our newly developed catalytic reactions provide rapid access to previously inaccessible materials which can have potential applications in wide range of areas including medicinal chemistry, agrochemicals, organic electronic materials, and photoredox catalysis etc.

Currently active research projects include:

  1. Design & Synthesis of New Bioactive compounds (Anti-Fungal, Anti-Biotic, as well as Agrochemicals).

  2. Asymmetric Synthesis

  3. Visible Light Photo Catalysis

  4. Development of New Green Synthetic Methodologies

  5. Remediation of Contaminated Water
