The Information Systems And Technology (IST) is responsible for maintaining the academic and administrative computing facilities at LUMS. Our mission is to provide leadership and innovation in information technology planning, to implement efficient technology infrastructures, to provision and support effective campus information systems, and to deliver responsive IT support services.
IST offers a vast array of technology services including state-of-the-art computing labs with 24x7 access, high-speed Internet (62MB), a secure campus network and high-availability e-mail, workplace computing resources and applications, online administrative systems, and web hosting services.
Currently, there are 2000 connected workstations across LUMS, from academic and administrative units, student hostels and on-campus faculty and staff residences. Wireless hotspots are provisioned in popular campus locations such as the library, dining center, and central courtyard.
IST's mission is to facilitate contemporary teaching, research and learning through high quality servces and technological infrastructure while ensuring that all users are adequately skilled to make optimum use of information technology.
